In the not too distant future, when pollution and global warming have forced most citizens to live inside domed cities, two teens are thrown together beyond the comforts of their city's protective dome. But it might have something to do with a secret hidden in the wheat-sheaf medallion that she has inherited from her mother, an agricultural scientist who worked for Koropco Industries and died in an automobile accident when Celia was a baby.
As Celia and Dominic journey together north through an inhospitable landscape, altered as much by corporate greed as climate change, they receive assistance from an eclectic cast of Outsiders.
