But what first made our distant ancestors distract themselves from the harsh everyday reality of the incessant struggle for existence and turn their eyes to the sky? Was it the mysterious beauty of the night sky dotted with pearly scatterings of stars? Or its seemingly "eternal" immutability? Or maybe the inner need for cognition, which develops along with the complication of the brain in the incessant labor activity. All this, apparently, played its role.
