Virtual microprocessors are software-based analogical models of computing hardware. To create them requires programming highly complex integrated circuits known as VLSIs (Very Large Scale Integration) to be cellular neural networks (CNNs). CNNs are electronic mini organism-like cells that can re-apply memorised information and modify their own operation accordingly without external reprogramming.
