Rudolf Weinsheimer, cellist and member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for 40 years under Herbert von Karajan and Claudio Abbado, is also known as the founder of the Ensemble of the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
