Kompletný popis

De Gruyter Studies in Innovation and Entrepreneurship edited by Professor John Bessant, Exeter University Innovation and entrepreneurship are separate and distinct fields of academic research which are very closely related. In basic terms, if entrepreneurs are to be successful they need to innovate. Innovation and entrepreneurship are growing fields dealing with the many challenges involved in creating value from ideas. A clear understanding of the rela-tionship between innovation and entrepreneurship is an issue of relevance in many dif-ferent contexts, from start-up high tech firm through to large corporation trying to rein-vent itself, and across to the public and not-for-profit sectors where the concern is with creating social value. Given this wide landscape of application there is not surprisingly a great deal of research going on to try and understand how innovation and entrepreneur-ship happen and the dynamics, influences and implications that follow. This has been ac-celerated by a number of shifts in the innovation landscape with growing interest in global-ization, engagement with users, 'open innovation', 'frugal innovation', 're-verse innova-tion' and so on; the result is a field which has a large number of players both actively re-searching and funding research seeking answers to the challenges posed. For these rea-sons there is considerable interest in books around the themes of innovation and entre-preneurship - as indicated by the huge expansion of titles in these fields. In particular there is scope for a research-led approach, drawing together insights and results from the many research active players in innovation and entrepreneurship offering fertile territory for a series of research monographs.
