Technology is a vital force and the field of technology management has emerged to address the ways in which companies should approach the use of technology. Porter's in his book 'Competitive Advantage' noted that technology has the potential to change the structure of existing industries and to create new industries. Technology is inherently difficult to manage because it is constantly changing, often in ways that cannot be predicted. Technology management focuses on the intersection of technology and business, encompassing not only technology creation but also its application, dissemination, and impact. It is also not the same as Research and Development Management. Given these trends, a new profession, known as technology management has emerged. For those in this profession, it is crucial to understand Technology Management - Process & Strategy. This monograph aims to facilitate these professionals - existing and new.
