Queer Intercorporeality: Bodily Disruption of§Straight Space explores the transgressive potential§of queer embodiment through the experiences of§transgendered people. This work engages with§theoretical frames that radically reconfigure§concepts of subjectivity and disrupts traditional§understandings of both the mind/body split and the§body as a separate and contained entity. Drawing on§Deleuze and Guattari s version of the becoming body§this work locates the body as a vibrant multiplicity§of particles capable of infinite connections and§creative innovations. Through approaching embodiment§as an intercorporeal and never ending process§Saunders explores the spatial settings, such as§family, which play a major role in the way that§bodies are formulated and the directions they take.§Exploring queer as a spatial term this book further§explores queer bodies as existing at an angle to the§heteronormative straight line. Engaging with the§dynamics of straight space this work investigates the§bodily affect on those who move beyond the limited§boundaries of identity and anatomical understandings§and embrace a space of intermezzo or in-between-ness.
