In endodontics, history has witnessed the use of wooden pegs and silver points in root canals. Modern advancements in obturating materials include Resilon-Epipheny system, Guttaflow etc. Variety of root canal sealers had been tried as orthograde and retrograde fillings. The search for a more compatible and ideal materials is still in progress.
