Neocarzinostatin, discovered in 1964, is a naturally occurring antitumor agent. With its unique enediyne chromophore, it was the first protein antibiotic ever used clinically and has become the prototypical anticancer agent in its class. This volume presents a comprehensive treatment of the past, present, and future development of neocarzinostatin, from the earliest findings to the most up-to-date research.
