Wind is an everyday phenomenon and speed acts as an indication to weather which can have great impact on us. In cases of typhoons and hurricanes, when wind speed is very high, it can cause ruthless damage to land, property and life especially in 3rd world country like Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Srilanka etc. Human beings always dreamt to converting wind power to mechanical and more recently electric power .Wind more than any other renewable energy source, has intrigued serious and amateur inventories over the ages. In ancient time the kinetic energy of the wind was used to propel ships by sails, windmills, however, are more recent, having been used for a little over a thousand years. And for this it is necessary to know the wind velocity that is suitable for generation of power. In today's age of renewable energy sources, the strength of wind is considered as a new source of energy. So for many reasons it is necessary to observe the speed of the wind.
