Detective Jaz Ballantine loses the best friend he has ever had when his foster-brother QC is murdered. As the bodies pile up in the morgue, Jaz realizes that he has a serial killer on his hands. Only this one has a completely different method of operating: all the victims are young, single, handsome, and African-American. His foster father Ed begs him to help bring QC's killer to justice. Much as Jaz hates to do it, he asks his ex-wife, the gorgeous Dhana, to profile the killer to try to track him down.Dhana does not want to admit that all her old emotions for her former husband are stirred up to fever pitch every time she lays eyes on him. But her sense of justice and a growing conviction that no one is safe with this killer on the loose causes her to give in and work with Jaz closely on the case. As a prominent psychologist, though, she soon draws the attention of the media, and the killer contacts her and begins to give away little pieces of valuable information, clues which lead Dhana to the inescapable conclusion: the most dangerous serial killer in Atlanta's history is a woman....
