Kompletný popis

This book focuses on how gender socialization impacts boys and girls. Starting from birth, there is a double standard as to what is acceptable for boys and girls; from everything to the clothes they wear, to what toys they can play with, and eventually to what classes and careers they will pursue. In addition, this study examined the relationship between gender and society with respect to the types of science and math classes eighth and ninth grade students planned on taking as they progressed through high school. The study asked students to evaluate how their friends, parents, teachers and the media have influenced their interest level in science and math. National statistics suggest girls stop taking science and math classes as they progress through high school, however, our results were surprising.
