As the machinery of the Holocaust begins to take form, Alia disrupts the meetings, logistics, and systems that would transform persecution into industrialized extermination. Millions who were never meant to survive are given another future-but history refuses to surrender without demanding a price.
For the first time, Alia discovers that changing the world is not the same as saving it. One intervention leads to an indirect death she cannot prevent, forcing her to confront the unbearable truth that even mercy can leave blood on the hands of those who wield it.
