The Changing Winds is a three-part poetry book on Kenya describing the events that took place in Kenya before and after the 2008 post-election violence through wind variations.
This poetry was first birthed through a period of fasting in 2007. What came to mind during this fast was what if Kenya's spirit could speak? What if Kenya had a personality what would he or she say? What if Kenya was a breathing and feeling and thinking being, what would be the prevailing issues that would rack the mind and heart of this being? What if Kenya was a color, a place, a spirit... what would she or he wish to be said on their account?
The reason I wrote this is that I believe Kenya has a voice, sometimes it may whisper or shout, that this
Voice may be lost in the "changing winds".
Let not the billowing winds drown out her voice, indeed let her spirit speak!!
