Vincent Mercury has been living a life of peace since he left the Marines. However, his peace comes to an abrupt end at the very moment the first pod lands and completely obliterates a nearby city. With his best friend and Army Veteran, Greg Benson, better known as Ed, they decide they cannot turn their backs to the chaos. Against their better judgement, they rush into the destroyed area. After their first encounter with a poddy, they quickly find that they are in for a much bigger war than they're used to.
After finding more survivors, Alexa and Travis, the duo becomes a team and is forced to continue trying to survive in secrecy, as the poddies, crooked bastards, and machines patrol the streets.
They have no goal in mind, other than survival. They have no hope. But, on the bright side, they have each other...or do they? When a new threat is introduced to the world, they must question the loyalties of one another, but they must find a way to continue without imploding...
