Environmental chemistry aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how human activities affect the environment by describing observed changes. In recent years, it has become common to include issues with societal significance in the broad concept of environmental chemistry. Due to various activities, including urbanization, industrialization, and development projects, human beings are degrading the environment without any boundaries. To raise awareness about the environment, several steps are taken by governmental and non-governmental agencies worldwide. In this regard, developing awareness among school and college students becomes highly essential. The students are expected to understand the real meaning of the environment, ecosystems, and the threats to the environment, like different types of pollution, global warming, and ozone layer depletion. Additionally, they must understand the causes, effects, and control measures associated with these environmental issues. In this venue, a number of efforts have been taken to save the existing environment. Keeping these things in mind, the book is designed to reach both schools and undergraduate students.
