The first part starts with an overview of the current financial services sector, then discusses why regulations are needed and the major strands of regulation in place and their purpose. The second part discusses EU and US regulations in place in more detail, at a level high enough to be of general interest and yet precise enough to help formulate compliance and regulatory strategy and shape operational and execution decisions.
